"I
am a teacher with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program at
Berks County Intermediate Unit. I teach children ages six
through twelve.
On May
2, my class was fortunate to see a mime performance given
by Michelle Wasik. It was an excellent show for the children
in my class since it was all visual.
From
the start, Michelle had the children entranced in her Sunflower
skit. Then she had each of the children come to her stage
and become part of the performance. Some of the children thought
for sure she had to know sign language since her body and
facial expressions were so clearly speaking to them.
It was
wonderful watching these deaf children enjoy the show. Their
faces were bright with excitement and anticipation. For the
first time all year, I think I could have heard a pin drop
in the room. It was a wonderful experience for all."
