A spokesman
for the president today, made public
the urgent need for a translator for
the president’s current and future
trips overseas. The current political
climate is such that the president is
meeting with many of the leaders of
the U.S.’s top allies. The president’s
schedule over the next few months alone,
involves trips to Great Britain, Australia,
New Zealand and Canada. As such the
White House is actively seeking translators
to travel with the president’s
overseas entourage. The need is said
to have arisen after a translator, who
had been with the president for nearly
ten years, dating back to his time as
governor of Texas, resigned last week. The
former Bush translator resigned citing
an overwhelming amount of on the job
stress and an inability to keep her
work and home life separate as the reasons
for her resignation.
When reached for comment, Norma Liser,
Bush’s former translator had this
to say:
“I enjoyed the lifestyle, and
the travel, however it was becoming
increasingly difficult for me to not
take my work home with me. Supposably
this is a common professionalistic
hazard
that aflecks many people with my particular
professionology.”
President Bush did not comment on Liser’s
resignation, although a spokesperson
for the Bush White House did release
a statement saying that the president
was deeply distraught over the resignation
and could not express what Ms. Liser
had meant to him. Upon further investigation,
Faux-Newz has learned that what the
White House
official actually meant
was that the president had put together
a lengthy statement regarding Ms.
Liser’s
resignation, but nobody had any idea
what the statement actually meant.
